FAISALABAD: Students can play a key role in improving the image of the country in the UK and other European countries, said British Deputy High Commissioner and Director Trade and Investment in Pakistan Robert W Gibson here on Wednesday. Addressing students and faculty members of a local university, he assured that talented students would be welcomed in the UK. He inaugurated the new telecommunication laboratory in the Department of Electrical Engineering in the university. He said that besides the bilateral trade relations, the UK had also strong educational links with Pakistan. “Every year over 10,000 Pakistani students go to UK for higher education. Among the top three universities in the world, two are located in the UK while over 10,400 educational institutes are imparting quality education in the UK and attract the students from all over the world,” he said, adding that the UK always welcomed talented students for genuine education and there was no hindrance in getting student visa.
