HEC awards 22 need-based scholarships to QAU

Higher Education Commission has awarded twenty-two need-based scholarships to the Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad for the MBA session 2011. The scholarships have been awarded under a recent agreement signed between HEC and USAID. The scholarship programme for session 2011 is focused toward students hailing from rural areas especially the female students. HEC, in partnership with the US Government, initiated a Merit and Needs Based Scholarship programme, which aims to provide assistance to talented but needy students who are unable to continue their higher education because of financial disadvantages. Large crowd at QAU Book Expo 2011

The Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) Book Expo-2011 started here on Monday on the university campus.

QAU History Department in association with university’s DRSM central library and Higher Education Commission (HEC) has onranised this two-day event to cultivate the reading habit that is sharply on the verge of decline in this age of technology.

A large number of Quaidians and students from far-flung areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad thronged the Expo venue, QAU Social Sciences parking area. (more…)

Inter Departmental Singing Competition at QAU

The Debating & Literary Society of Quaid-i-Azam University organized an Inter Departmental Singing Competition (Melodious Night) with an aim to promote young talent in the field of performing art.

Tauqeer Nasir, Director General, Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) was the chief guest on the occasion while Khadija Haider and Jam Babar, well known artists were invited as the Special Guests/Judges. (more…)

QAU Admission MPhil Programme Spring Semester-2011

Applications on the prescribed forms are invited for admission to the M.Phil programme of the University in the following subjects:-
ELIGIBILITY
The candidate must have:-

i) 1st Division in M.A/M.Sc. degree or its equivalent or in B.A./B.Sc. but no 3rd division in
M.A./M.Sc. or B.A B.Sc.
ii) In case of 3rd division in F.A/F.Sc., the candidate should have 1st division in both B.A/B.Sc.
