The Punjab University Faculty of Education, in collaboration with Promotion of Education in Pakistan, Sughra Begum Centre for Education Policy Development and Pakistan Association for Research in Education, will organize a three-day international conference on education on October 21.

Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal, Dean of Faculty of Education PU, said the theme of the conference is “Education in Pakistan: Issues, Challenges and Reforms” and experts from the US, the UK, India and Pakistan would participate. The news

Dr Akhtar new Punjab University registrar

The Punjab University (PU) has appointed Prof Dr Muhammad Akhtar as registrar while replacing incumbent Prof Dr Naeem Khan.

Prof Akhtar is also zoology department chairman. Institute of Bio-Chemistry and Bio-Technology director Prof Dr Amin Athar has been given the additional charge of hall council chairman.

The VC has also appointed Prof Dr Muhammad Fakharul Haq Noori as Urdu department chairman with effect from Sept 17 till further orders. READ MORE »

PU BA/BSc supplementary exam

The PU BA/BSc supplementary examination for 2010 will begin from October 14, while the practical examination in science subjects will commence from October 25.

The result of BA, BSc annual examination declared on Tuesday showed approximately 29 pass percentage, which surpassed the last year’s 27.73 by one per cent.
As many as 1,76,624 candidates took the examination, held in April/May 2010, of whom 49, 370 were declared successful. 
The pass percentage of boys remained 19.18 per cent as out of 59,162 only 11,347 students qualified in the exam. A total number of 1,12,462 girl students appeared of whom 38,023 girls qualified, indicating a pass percentage of 33.81 result. READ MORE »

HEC ranked PU second best after QAU

The Higher Education Commission has ranked the Punjab University the second best varsity among general universities in the country in terms of research publications, faculty development, student strength and other factors. It is at the top in Lahore.

The Punjab University has scored 45.92 per cent marks allocated for research, students, facilities, finances and faculty, after the Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, with a score of 58.16. READ MORE »
