ADMISSION TO M.PHIL LEADING TO PhD/PhD EDUCATION

EXTERNAL DEGREE PROGRAMME 2011

Applications are invited on the prescribed form for admission to the M.PhiI Leading to PhD Education Programme of the Institute.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR M.PHIL LEADING TO PhD

i. Master’s degree in Education in First Division from a recognized university with a minimum GPA of 2.5013.00 or 3.00/400 or 65% marks under semester system or 6O% marks under Annual Examination System.

ii. Having not more than two second divisions ii an academic career. There should be no 3 division in entire academic career (where “division” criteria applicable). No “0” grade in entire academic career (where “grade” criteria applicable).

iii. Applicants should have qualified GAT (General) conducted by NTS (visit website for test dates www.nts.org.pk)

iv. All candidates will also have to qualify Interview conducted by the Institute.

v. Only teachers, professionals and personnel working in R&D organization having at least three years of service as a full-time paid employee in a recognized school/ college/university/educational organization

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR PhD

i. M. Phil/M.S/Equivalent degree in Education in First Division from a HEC recognized University with a minimum CGPA of 3.00/4.00 or 65% marks under Semester system or 6O% marks under Annual Examination system.

ii. Having not more than two second divisions man academic career. There should be no 3rd division (where “division” criteria applicable). No “D” grade in entire academic career (where “grade” criteria applicable)

iii. In addition to (i)(ii) candidate must fulfill criteria for admission to M.Phil as given below:

a. Master’s degree in education in First Division from a recognized university with a minimum GPA of 2.5013.00 or 3.00/4.00 or 65% marks under semester system or 6OY0 marks under Annual Examination System.————————————————————————

iv) The candidates must have qualified GAT Subject (Education) test conducted by NTS.

v) The candidates will have to qualify interview conducted by the Institute.

vi) Only teachers, professionals and personnel working in R&D organization having at least three years of service as a full-time paid employee in a recognized school/ college/university educational organization.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Copies of prospectus and prescribed application form will be available from March 28,2011 from the office of the Institute on Payment of Rs. 300/- in person or through mail by sending a crossed postal order/demand draft for Rs. 350/-in favour of the Director IER Lahore. Detailed information about the mode of application, eligibility requirements, admission criteria, number of sets, dues, registration rules etc is available in prospectus.

The admission in External Programme for in-service candidates is open for whole years however application received till June 03, 2011 in the office of Institute by 01:00 p.m. will be considered for processing of admission in class starting from June 13, 2011. Application must be routed through proper channel.

INTERVIEW SCHEDULE

The name of candidates eligible for interview will be displayed on the notice board of the Institute on June 06, 2011.

The interview will be held on June 08, 2011. No TA/D. A will be paid for test / interview.
