A delegation of the Peshawar University Teachers Association that called on Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti here on Tuesday demanded uniformity in allowances for PhD scholars at the national level.

The delegation, led by its president Dr Joher Ali, apprised the chief minister of problems confronting the teachers and demanded establishment of a college for their children.

Mr Hoti urged the association members to transfer their knowledge to the new generation.

Recounting development schemes initiated by the government, he said establishment of the Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, and its campuses in Charsadda and Swabi, Swat University and four cadet colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in just two years showed the government’s commitment towards promotion of higher education in the province.
