Sometimes called a learning disorder or learning difficulty), is a classification including several disorders in which a person has difficulty learning in a typical manner, usually caused by an unknown factor or factors. The unknown factor is the disorder that affects the brain’s ability to receive and process information. This disorder can make it problematic for a person to learn as quickly or in the same way as someone who isn’t affected by a learning disability. People with a learning disability have trouble performing specific types of skills or completing tasks if left to figure things out by themselves or if taught in conventional ways. (more…)

Influential landlords using 1,158 schools as godowns

Senior Sindh Minister for Education, Pir Mazharul Haq said 1,158 schools established in the province by the previous rulers are being used as godowns by influential landlords.
The minister said this on Sunday while addressing on the second death anniversary of the PPP worker Ismail Chopan observed near here at Dhoronaro. Recalling Ismail Chopanís services for restoration of democracy, the minister said he was a brave worker of the party and his sacrifice will not go waste. Paying rich tributes to the late activists of the party, the minister said Chopan was kidnapped and killed in 2009 by political rivals. HEC tells ECP not to recognise fake degree holders

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has told the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) not to recognise graduation degrees of 330 parliamentarians until they furnish original documents of matriculation and intermediate certificates.
“These MPs’ graduation has no legal standing without valid previous education record,” well-placed official sources said while talking to The News here on Sunday.They maintained that neither the MPs were discharging their responsibility of meeting the legal requirements nor they were being pressed enough for submitting their missing degrees. “They are intentionally overlooking the reminders and warnings issued in the last couple of months. Saudi teachers stage rare Riyadh protest

A group of 250 unemployed Saudi university graduates staged a rare protest in the capital Riyadh, and the group’s spokesman vowed on Sunday to keep up the demonstrations till the Gulf Arab state creates jobs for them.
“We are a group of teachers who have not found any jobs. We have staged a peaceful protest in front of the ministry of education … We would like to protest for longer but the police keep dispersing us,” Nayef al-Tamimi told Reuters. (more…)

Karachi University academic session 2011

The new academic session at the University of Karachi (KU) for the year 2011 will commence from January 15.

This was announced by the spokesperson of KU on Thursday. The date has been advanced from January 8 because the process of admission as well as the semester examinations is still incomplete. In view of this, the first semester at KU will now begin from January 15. (more…)

Applications on the prescribed forms are invited for admission to the M.Phil programme of the University in the following subjects:-
ELIGIBILITY
The candidate must have:-

i) 1st Division in M.A/M.Sc. degree or its equivalent or in B.A./B.Sc. but no 3rd division in
M.A./M.Sc. or B.A B.Sc.
ii) In case of 3rd division in F.A/F.Sc., the candidate should have 1st division in both B.A/B.Sc.
