National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), a project of Higher Education Commission, has been set up as an accreditation authority by Higher Education Commission for accreditation of computing degree programs nationwide.

Accreditation by NCEAC shall be a mandatory process for the following computing BS degree programs offered by public and private sector institutions nationwide as per policy of Higher Education Commission (HEC):

  • Computer Science
  • Information Technology
  • Bioinformatics
  • Software Engineering  
  • Information Systems

A total of 37 computing programs of 33 institutions have been accredited by NCEAC. The summary of accredited programs was announced via publication of advertisement on August 22, 2010. Further to the previous advertisement, the following additional programs of public and private sector universities are accredited as approved in the 11th and 12th meetings of NCEAC:
