IIU students win business plan contest
The business plans by female students of the International Islamic University in Discover The NUST Business Plan Competition are ranked among few of the best plans presented in the competition.
The two-day first round of workshop was organised by NUST where the participants competed for best Elevator Pitch on the first day. Two groups of IIU female students secured first and third positions. The idea, which won the position of first best elevator pitch was Momentum Cab Services and was presented by Sara Shaheen, Nadia Murtaza, Nadia Batool, Mahwish Arif and Azra from BBA. The business idea titled Duteous won the third position and was presented by Sadia Ikhlaq from BBA.
On the second day of workshop, the audience and judges were again convinced by the idea presented by female students. The second day round one was about the presentations of the business ideas and their plans by the participating groups where again IIU students won second and third position. The business plan, which stood second, was Ostrich Farming in Pakistan presented by Asma Chand, Asma Naz, Anum Ashraf and Faiza Batool while the business plan of Momentum Cab Service got the 3rd position, all were BBA students. The format of the competition was that business professionals from different industries were gathered by NUST and were allocated different rooms with eight teams on the average for mentoring purposes. Each mentor selected one best plan from their respective rooms.
Students from different universities including NUST, GIKI, College of EME, Bahria University, Military College of Signals, Riphah University, International Islamic University, Fatima Jinnah University, Hi-Tech University, University of Peshawar, Kohat University, Comsats, Fast and SZABIST participated in the competition.
