These guys are so useless, lazy, unfriendly and incompetent. More than a year on I am still fuming about the shocking service! I took my VW Golf in for regular service here late 2014, as a new driver. Despite my telling them that there was rattling noise coming from the car, they were apparently unable to identify the source of the noise, which I found surprising. I had to take my car back 2 weeks later because my sump plug was broken and my car was leaking oil. My assumption was that they probably didnt replace/re-attach the sump plug properly and as a result it broke - this had to be replaced. When I returned I mentioned the persistent rattling - this time, they managed to identify the source as a broken clip at the top of the car (for where you house your sunglasses) - this was a factory defect as I had heard this rattling since I first purchased the car brand new. More importantly, however, was the fact that these guys failed to pick up a bulb in my tire - which I noticed but had no idea this was dangerous - being a new driver and all. They also did not pick a faulty wheel bearing that was making a slight humming noise - which they shouldve picked up on a road test. Service was curt and impolite. To add insult to the injury up until late last year they have continued to pester me to come back for a service despite me telling them that there was no way I would go back given the fact they let me drive my car with with a faulty tire and wheel bearing. Im writing this today because Ive taken my car to John Hughes VW Service Centre - who have been nothing short of amazing. The team at John Hughes keep me updated, are professional, get the job done, and are punctual. I regret paying close to $500 for service at Southside Volkswagen on a brand new car that had only something like 8000 km on it in the one year it was driven.
I booked my vw in for a cambelt,$1600.00 got a phone call later that day and was told the vacumn pump was making a noise,another $1600.00,picked up van and noticed funny noise,took it back and tol d fan belt adjuster needs to be replaced,$700.00 later went to pick up vehicle and was told every thing was perfect so paid latest account and drove away 200 metres down the road and vehicle was making same noise as it went in for,3 hours later was now told gear box needs a bearing,approx $4000,00.I asked for my money back for the work to fix the belt adjuster job which was not needed and all I got offered was a free serviceI told them I would not trust them to do that properly and left in disgust.DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE in my opinion they are a bunch of idiots. Well,thanks for getting in touch with me (NOT) I was told by you people that the service manager would get in touch with me when he got back from holiday 12/01/2015,I am still waiting.I was told by the service manager before he went on holiday after much dithering that the noise in my vehicle was a gearbox bearing and that it would cost approx $4000.00 to fix.I have since taken it to a gearbox specialist who diagnosed a tail shaft problem.After removing the drive shaft at the tail shaft end and lubricating it,he has solved the problem $145.00 later.You people need to give your staff the DCM and get mechanics who are not cowboys,including the so called Service Manager (Andrew)
Deceitful lying car dealer, never try to buy from here if you are interstate. I signed contracts for the asking price, Paid for Redbook inspections and was told by their management that it would be our car and then advised at the last minute that the car was sold to someone else. They changed their requirements of my contract 3 times and I signed each one as they wanted but still sold the car to someone else after being told it is my car. I never once complained about the car or required anything to be done to it, I even offered to have a clause in the contract to exclude warranty or I will bring the car back to Southside if I require warranty. Do not believe what they say over the phone. they obviously dont care about interstate business. Not even worthy of 1 star but cant post with less Latest update: To add to the insult. The car they told me was sold to someone else now turns up on carsales linked to them and they are asking 3k more. So Im guessing not sold.... just changed their mind after giving me a contract to sign and deciding to go back on their word to try and make a buck. The lowest grade car yard I have ever dealt with
Absolutely Wonderful Service, products and willingness to help!!! I work in a sales environment myself, Rob Benson (Commercial Vehicle Specialist) was extremely keen to listen to what my needs were and we worked towards getting the vehicle I really wanted, he comes HIGHLY RECOMMEND his HONEST SERVICE and ADVICE this will help him go along way in the industry, same goes to Ashley Zacharia - Finance (Business Manager) having already sourced a credit quote elsewhere online they we able to bet the most competitive quote I had found online and by a fair bit may I add ( Bottom Line ) and I was only happy to oblige to proceed with the best quote, the whole transaction is also much smoother than sourcing finance independently which I have done previously, Ashley thanks also for your HONEST SERVICE and ADVICE also HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, The aftercare continued even after I had signed on the dotted line......Having traveled from the north this was a worthy visit, thanks lads!!! Thank you Southside VW Commercials in Cannington, and THANK YOU Sales Team. I had an amazing experience here. I was treated with respect & patience while i carefully desided between Amarok and Hilux.. In the end i chose Amarok and i am so glad i did. The negotiation was fare and straight forward and i believe i got a exceptional deal. When i came to pick my vehicle up it was ready on time and the Salesman was so thorough in showing me all the features and technology the vehicle has to offer. Again thank you so much for being such a fantastic dealership and i will strongly recommend all my friends and family here in the future. BTW i have recently had my first check up service done here and found the service department to be exceptionally well Run 5 STARS.
Tony Jiang from Southside Volkswagen is the most helpful service manager I have encounter here in Perth. He goes above and beyond his way to help his customer. I have had this experience recently when he was able to help petition to Volkswagen Australia to help me fix my clutch problem. I have had it looked at by my original dealer where I bought my Volkswagen and they never attempt to investigate the issue properly and I am so glad Tony and his service team at Southside Volkswagen was able to help me locate the problem and resolve the issue. This is where I will be bring my Volkswagen for service from now on and I would recommend them to anyone. Best Customer service Thank You Tony Jiang and his service team
