The reviews listed on Google were shocking but I went ahead anyway due to it being conveniently located. I should have known better as the booking experience alone should have put me off. The service dept chased my business and I told them I could get it cheaper else where do we ended it there. I then got a few follow up calls and I agreed after they agreed to match my quote from another dealer. When booking it in with the service manager we also talked about some tires. He, I believe his name is Ben said he would call me back with some tire prices. This call never took place. I arrived on time for my 7:30am booking, I was promised that this service would take 90 mins max. It took almost twice that long. I also asked them again to give me tire prices. They never gave me any, I would have had these fitted at this visit should a reasonable price have been given. I was promised another call back later that day with prices. No call has taken place. I also asked for them to fix the windscreen washer as a few jets were blocked. I got back in the car they had not been fixed. They had also just filled it with water not any detergent of any sort. A few days later I went and did some beach driving and upon inflating my tires and connecting my compressor to the battery in the engine bay I noticed that they had also not closed the air filter box properly and none of the clips were attached. They were pretty hard to clip back in. My assumption, it was just too hard. They have also not reset my service counter. All in all I now have to agree with the constant poor ratings of the dealership, the service department truly is a disgrace. If they are not doing the things that are easily checked I wonder what other corners are being cut. On the upside the guy who actually served me was pleasant. However this doesnt even come close to what I would describe as a shocking experience.
Terrible customer service for a service center. Very pushy on the recommendations, some of which sound rather like work for the sake of extra work. My 09 Lancer had 2 recall letter which i was assured would be done free of charge when I put it in for a service with them. Well put it in for a service and the day after the service I was called and notified that they did not have the parts in to do one of the recalls, rather upset that they did not notify me when they did the service recommendations but fine. I have been to service centers where a free vacuum and car wash is part of the service, apparently Southside dont do that, fine, cant be spoiled princess all the time. Smaller mechanics have done this for free with additional use of car or transport to my work so I may have been spoiled there. So put car back in to get that recall note done, was told it would be done by 3. By 4 no call, so I get my partner to call. Recall was not complete because we replaced the broken radio with an aftermarket one, NO notification was given at any point that this was an issue at either the service, disclaimer on letter or by call today when the car was with Mitsubishi all day for this specific purpose. VERY POOR communication, I would be less upset if they communicated better. Will not be taking my car back at all, will seriously consider the importance of their recall letters. Initial purchase was very nice, trade in price was terrible but for a hail damaged hyundai trade not unexpected, saw them flip it for 1300 more than what they gave me (again expected). Avoid the service center, you can get better services with nicer people elsewhere. EDIT: They did one of the 2 recall notes on my Lancer, so if my wipers or headlights break I will know why that has happened
Sales staff are great service department is terrible (upsell and failing to honor bookings) I booked my 380 in for a "$125" service and was told it would be done by Noon if I got it to them before 09:30. I wanted it quick because I was going to be waiting around for it. When I got there to drop it off at 09.00 they said the service will be $210 and the car would not be done till 4. I got them to honor the original quoted price and time frame then left. 45 mins later the server department called me to say I should get the Trans fluid replaced and the break fluid and the coolant and one other fluid I cant recall. More than $1200 worth of upsell. When I said "No, Thank you" the guy demanded to know why. Is there a polite way to say "I dont trust you and want a second opinion"? If there was not a recall on the indicator switch I would not use that dealer for servicing. Great sales staff but get your servicing elsewhere. UPDATE:=============================== Got my second opinion from a local mechanic on the way home. Coolant was fine (litmus test result said it did not need changing) Brake fluid was fine (visual inspection, Cant test it scientifically without pumping out the brakes) Steering fluid cant be tested - 2 year timer per manufacturer recommendation. Auto transmission fluid cant be tested - every 100,000km per manufacturer recommendation. So the service recommendations given to me as "Required work" on the phone discovered by the Service department mechanic were all bullshit up sell with no objective basis in fact. I stand by my review: Get your service done else where or get a second opinion if they "find" urgent work to do on your car.
I would NOT recommend this dealership to anyone, had so many issues it was ridiculous, and the car I took in I had only owned for 3 weeks... First off they couldnt even book me in properly and my appointment was never confirmed. Luckily I actually rang and double checked otherwise I would have showed up without a booking. Then when I took my car in the customer service was absolutely terrible. My service was under a three year warranty so they acted like they could not be bothered with my car as i didnt have to pay and were in general just plain rude. They couldnt even ring up to tell me when my car was ready, once again I had to chase that up myself. At the end of it they didnt even fix the problem I was having with my car, and they insisted it was just a loose clamp somewhere resulting in leaking fluid. I ended up having to take it to another mechanic because my car continued to leak fluid (to be honest I dont think they even looked at my car because I didnt have to pay due to my warranty), and it turned out there was a hole about the size of a 20 cent piece in a pipe that they didnt find...?!? Safe to say these people do not care at all about customer service, only money. Absolutely pathetic service, will never be going back and hopefully can get rid of this warranty.
FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE. IN TRUE SENSE THE EMPLOYEES HERE MADE ME FEEL LIKE A KING. VERY VERY REASONABLE PRICES. I MET DAVID AND JESSE AND THEY WERE EXCELLENT. THE MECHANIC WHO WORKED ON MY CAR GAVE JUST EXACTLY THE SAME REPORT WHICH I KNEW WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR. THEY HAVE WRITTEN ON THEIR WALL GENUINE MITSUBISHI AND THEY TRULY DESERVE WRITING THIS ON THEIR WALL. THEY GAVE ME SO MANY FREEBIES ALONG WITH FANTASTIC SERVICE. SOMETHING WHICH I KNEW WAS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH MY CAR AND I WAS EXPECTING THEM TO BRING A QUOTE TO ME BUT INSTEAD TO MY SURPRISE THEY OFFERED FOC AND REPAIR ON IT TO MY SATISFACTION, SURPRISE AND MUCH DELIGHT. I AM GOING TO SING A SONG FOR THEM TO ALL MY RELATIVES AND FRIENDS TO GO TO JUST SOUTHSIDE MITSUBISHI. MUST MUST VISIT FOR ALL. WHY GO ANYWHERE ELSE WHEN YOU HAVE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL TEAM JUST WAITING TO PAMPER YOU! HATS OFF TO THE MANAGEMENT FOR CREATING SUCH A FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE LOCATION. HOPE THEY WILL CONTINUE TO DELIVER EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. NEEDLESS TO MENTION I WAS REFERRED HERE BY A FRIEND AND NOW I AM GOING TO CONTINUE THIS LEGACY BY REFERRING ANYBODY AND EVERYBODY HERE FOR ALL THEIR CAR NEEDS. I AM GOING TO COME BACK TO THEM AGAIN FOR SURE 100% :-)
