Okay, there are some pretty bad reviews for this place but I went here anyway as it is close to my house. I thought people generally leave bad reviews but rarely leave a good one if they are happy with the service. So, I feel this place needs some balance on the reviews. Ive been here about 5 times for various (all be it quite straight forward) repairs and each visit they have done a good job and have been friendly and professional. They are happy to take you into the workshop and give you a thorough run down of what they think is going on and the best way to go about fixing it. This is better customer service than Ive received at many other auto workshops. All in all, I cant comment on their ability to handle complex or difficult diagnoses/repairs, but when it comes down to replacing break pads, dealing with a sump gasket, or servicing an A/C unit they are very affordable and do a great job.
We have been taking all of our family cars (5) to this mechanical workshop for 10 years. On nearly all occasions the jobs are carried out very well and the cars have kept on going really well. The prices are reasonable and the explanations of what has been done are fine. When a problem is discovered after a service or repair they manage this very well and always are thoughtful about the price and our time. Brian is a nice guy with a self confessed need to be a better communicator. Ok he is not a perfect person. So who is? The way around it is to call Brian and speak to him. He is always willing to talk and explain. I also have a classic car that he has gone out of his way to look after and has been excellent at sourcing parts and information about it. Dont hesitate to go there. Just persevere if you need more words from Brian! Highly recommended.
My BMW wouldnt start so I took it to the RAC workshop near my place and they told me that they couldnt fix it and that I would need to take it to Auto Classic who said they would charge $250 just to look at my car. I took it to Repco and was surprised that they were able to fix the problem and it cost me $500 to change the fuel pump. On checking with Auto Classic on how much to change the fuel pump and they advised me at least $1200. I was extremely happy with the service, the price and the customer service that everyone at REPCO in Vic Park gave me and would be very happy to recommend them. I especially liked that I was dealing with a team of professionals who knew what they were doing and not a bunch of apprentices.
I thought Id give this joint a go knowing that there were 3 bad reviews and 1 good. They offered a same day service for my Aircon and Engine Mounts, and because they were kind of close and along the bus route, i decided to give them a go. I was staring down the barrel of (other companies had quoted) 1100 for aircon and 360 for Engine Mounts... so almost 1500. I dropped my car off in the morning and picked it up in the afternoon. True to their word, they completed the work in the same day. I have icey cold aircon and they did both items for 1098. This made me exceedingly happy that they did the work for about %33 less than what i was quoted and theyve done an exceptional job. Very happy I gave them a go!
DO NOT GO HERE HOPELESS Car had trouble starting, took in for service, clearly explained it had trouble starting, asked to get the spark plugs changed $500 later spark plugs changed, but not difference to starting, they download three fault codes, but they only told me two, suggested an autoelectrician took five gos to start to leave the yard, only got about 1km down the road before car died two tows from RAC later i had it at Renault, I was not happy to hear from renault the the rocker cover had leaked oil all over the coils and spark plugs and i would need new spark plugs "your joking they were only put in barely 1km ago!"
We had to replace the gearbox from our Ford Focus. This procedure took 4 weeks (I hired a car in this time for roughly 300$ per week) and instead to put a healthy and good function gearbox in, they put an old and faulty one in. I wanted them to replace it and they just kept ignoring my enquiry by telling me, ohh sorry we totally forgot about it etc. 2 weeks later I gave up and let it be. This whole thing costed me around 2700$. Personally, I wouldnt recommend this place.
I have been using Vic Park Auto for the last 4 years or so, and have always had terrific service from them. Mostly just regular services and one repair. I started with them because my elderly mother-in-law has been using them for her car servicing for quite a few years before that. I observed and noted honesty and good service when other mechanics have taken advantage of her.
On my first (last visit) i wanted my car serviced and rumble noise fixed. After $950 and replacing the steering bushes the rumble was not fixed. I had not even driven out of the parking area They then said it was transmission..which i knew it was not..and referred me to someone else. The transmission business confirmed that assessment. Incompetent to say the least!
DO NOT GO TO THIS MECHANIC for your CAR issues. this is the worst car repair place to go. THE OWNER doesnt have a customer service mind at all. I have been here for at least of 5 times now and they still havent fix my car problem. I now have to go direct to another car repair place.
So rude and borderline abusive! I rang about my sisters car trying to get some answers and information about what had happened and the tests they would be doing, only to receive an earful of abuse from Brian. How do businesses like this still operate?
We have both cars serviced here for nearly 3 years and never had a problem. We got recommended by colleague who uses them regularly and we couldnt be happier. There pricing is great compared to Ultra Tune who we had been using previously.
AVOID AT ALL COST, this repairer has caused multiple additional problems to my vehicle, and additional costs. Their below standard procedure and customer service is diabolical.
Customer service has been absolutely second to none. There are few places I trust with my BMW but Vic Park Auto care is one of those places for sure.
Fast efficient and honest very hard to find these days highly recommend you wont be disappointed.
