Had my car serviced and thought it was done ok. I have no problems with the work they actually did, but my key gripes with Pace are: - they over service, which means they do things that I dont think are really necessary; and - they said that things were wrong with my car that werent actually wrong. To be more specific after having a service they said the boots on my ball joints were cracked and needed urgent attention. They actually showed me pictures of the cracked boots, covered in grease and grime, which was not consistent with how I keep the car. I found this strange so I took it to RAC to get it on a hoist for a better look. They could not see anything wrong and I also checked at the same time and they looked ok and there was no grease or grime like I was shown in the pictures. I thought, being conservative I would take it to another Audi specialist, Quattro Motors in Burswood, for another opinion, just in case RAC got it wrong and in case I missed the issue. They said it was ok and saw no problems. Long story short, 4 years after Pace said the boots needed to be urgently replaced they did finally crack and that is when I got them replaced. Unfortunately Quattro motors owned the land their business was on and sold it to a high rise developer and their database to another company, which left me without somebody I trusted to service my car. I thought Id try Pace again. Nothing changed same sort of message, of doom and gloom and while the servicing is ok, it is easy to get things done that arent actually necessary. Ultimately car servicing is about trust, while I think Pace do an ok job, I dont trust Pace when it comes to over servicing and spending more than is actually necessary. _____________________ Response since Simons feedback. As I said i had no problems with the service work provided, but reality is if something does not need to be done to a car and it gets done it is a waste of resources and money. (1) you did not provide an accurate picture of the condition of my car; (2) Being thorough is not the same as over servicing. The reality is I was told something was wrong with my car when there wasnt. (3) What you call being thorough just means more work for you. Your justification is not too dissimilar to saying you should get your car serviced every month, just to make sure your being thorough. (4) When the CV joints were inspected after being to your garage there was absolutely no sign of "cracks" or degradation as suggested by the photos shown! (5) Preventative maintenance is not the same as over servicing. Over servicing is over servicing, Replacing something that does not need replacing is over servicing!
The amount of superlatives would not fit in this space for the gratitude and admiration I have for Pace Auto - Werks. Honesty, integrity and fantastic service with great technicians attending to ones vehicle are the backbone of this company and I would not hesitate for an instance to recommend Pace to anyone looking for an HONEST company to service and repair their vehicle. The only thing a business has to offer to be successful is service and Pace has it in spades. My father was a top notch mechanic in the same calibre of this company and I am so grateful that I can again receive that level of expertise and honesty which so many companies today do not have but who operate on poor service and exploitation of their clients. Thank you everyone at Pace Auto - Werks. I LOVE you!!! My car runs like a dream.
As a long term devotee of German cars for superior engineering I have recently discovered Pace Auto Werks after my previous specialist workshop closed their doors due to retirement. My wife and I both have Audi Allroads as we drive many country miles between our homes in Perth and Albany fortnightly. I was delighted with the high standards of mechanical work and customer service when my Allroad was serviced recently. Even the detailed invoice was easy to read, a mine of useful information about the state of my vehicle and a reasonable amount. Now that we have traded one of the Allroads on a Polo (much easier to park in the city), we look forward to an enjoyable and professional friendship with Simon and Tracy.
Word of Mouth. Businesses live or die by the old adage. And I will do my best to spread the word on Simons outstanding business. Here, youre treated as both customer and friend. Costs are clearly delineated, the service schedule clearly defined. But what sets this business from other mechanics is that Simon actually cares about his customer and his/her vehicle. You know, from the minute the vehicle enters his workshop, that Pace Auto-Werks will do their utmost to keep your car performing. His testaments are no coincidence, nor are the number of German makes and marques parked outside his establishment. Ive found my mechanic and Im sticking by him!
So glad we found these guys! There is no comparison between the service you receive at Pace Auto Werks and the dealership. Dealerships are all flash and fancy and no substance, while at Pace you receive great service from professionals who care about their customers. No problem is too big or small and the attention to detail is amazing. My husband and I highly recommend Simon, Kim and the team at Pace Auto Werks to anyone looking to have a vehicle serviced in a state of the art workshop, without the pain of paying dealership prices.
Highly recommend Pace Auto Werks. I can’t thank them enough for their incredible customer service from time of booking to collection. It didn’t feel like my car when I picked it up and drove it home, it felt like a brand-new car and was purring all the way home not even in sports mode. I was very impressed with the technician who went above and beyond on my car to change the timing belt on my Audi which wasn’t an easy job. They were also the best priced for a major job and I am glad I went with them. I will be a returning customer.
Terrible experience was quoted a price for new brake pads when picking my car up was presented with a bill for twice the amount when I complained the owners attitude and customer service was appauling they do as the car tells them he said and a full assessment was indicated after 8 weeks of driving the brake lights came on indicating brake fluid was required when I called them he informed it had been check and this time "told me to ignore what the car is telling me " I will never use this repair shop again

Thank you very much for the excellent service you provided for my 2007 VW Golf Comfortline TDI. I found your staff to be professional, efficient and friendly. I also appreciate your honesty and integrity. I could have stood at the counter discussing my shared passion for German cars with Simon for ages. You can be rest-assured that I will be returning to Pace Motors for my next service and have no hesitation in recommending Pace Motors to others who also own German cars. Kind regards, Sean van Heygen
Having arrived from Sydney with my old Audi A4 1.8T, which I like to take good care of, I was a bit worried about finding an excellent service centre. As a few things needed attention, I was extremely fortunate to find Pace in the early days. Although busy, the team has been very responsive to my needs and professional in the service they have provided. I have been particularly impressed with their thoroughness in investigation of issues, clarity of communication and all of the work done to date.
