Alberts is owned by a gent named Grant Lauterbach. I first met Grant when he was store manager at Alberts in Myaree over 10 years ago. Sometimes when someone provides exceptional service and goes the extra mile, you remember them. On that occasion, I dropped off my [now] wifes car to get a head unit installed. I think total cost was about $300. As it was a Thursday night, Grant offered to give me a lift back home. Decent bloke I thought but then realized he lived NoR whilst I lived near Fremantle.Not many would do that for a small job like mine....Suffice to say, the install was great and my wife was very happy. Fast forward to a month ago. I was keen to get a bluetooth enabled head unit for my classic Porsche. Googling places, Grants name popped up and he was now the owner of Alberts Morley. I remembered how great he was and went straight there. Did not bother with the rest - I have learnt that you may save a bit on price by shopping around but if someone has done the right thing by you in the past, you stick with them! Long story short, I went to see Grant on Saturday at 11am. Explained what I wanted and that I find it hard to come in during the weekdays. Grant found me a slot at 1pm the same day. Had the install done in an hour. I got a unit that Grant reccommended - turned out to be the cheapest but that is exactly what I wanted. No flashing lights or the best looking - just something that was functional. Driving to work on Monday I realized that the unit was horrible for picking up AM radio (showing my age here). Called Grant that morning and he made an appointment for me to drop the car off on Wednesday morning to check it out. He had his main installer check out the car for over 2 hours. He called that afternoon and explained that given the age of the car and some other intricacies, he could either look at doing a total overhaul and install or he was willing to give me a full refund and put back the old head unit. Given its age and the fact that I only wanted bluetooth as a convenience, I took the option of a full refund. Alberts closes at 5.30pm. I had a unscheduled work meeting and only left work at 5.20pm. Called Grant and apologized saying I would be about half an hour. He said not to worry, he would wait as long as it took. Got there, he had reinstalled the old head unit and gave me the full refund. I would have expected him to take a deduction for all the time spent investigating the issue but he did not. All part of the service. I did the least I could and took him a bottle of wine later on as thanks....... If you have read all the way through to here, then you can appreciate how unique this type of customer service is nowadays. Normally I say Porsche and guys are waiting to rip me off. I also find it rarer to find businesses with integrity and pride. Grant is one of them and he runs his business the same way. I would have no hesitation in using him again and will ensure I tell my friends to do so too. I do not like social media much but when you find someone like this, I believe people need to know. That is why I have gone to the effort of writing all this about the man and his business.......
These guys are awesome. I have been in the Automotive industry for over 15 years and have dealt with many different companies as you can imagine. One thing that is becoming less and less in this day and age is Real customer service...not just saying it but actually showing your customers you are not just there for the $$$ but genuinely care for them and their needs. It is totally obvious to me that this is how Grant and his staff have run their business for many years. Grant had Stuart fit an alpine digital sat nav, Rockford Fosgate under seat sub and recomended not to spend anything on the other speakers in the car and Wow, he was right no point as it sounds Great! I will not go anywhere else for car stereo equipment and anyone thinking of dealing with them rest at ease, You are in safe hands. Thank you Grant and team, Keep up the good work. Rod
I never even brought my Eclipse AVN827 stereo System from Grants shop. But goggled his shop and called in when down from Kalbarri. You showed how me to drive it. upgraded the system. Much appreciated. Since then move to New Zealand with the car. Rang Grant up, from NZ, not aware that it was 0730am. in W.A. He answered the phone chirpy as ever, stating that he was still in bed. But no worries , fixed the problem. Wow!!!!! how`s that for service, cannot not rate this lad high enough. l thought that kind of service was long gone.. Cheers mate.
First of all I just want to say a big Thank you to Grant. He is one of the nicest guy I have ever met. One time I dropped my car at his workshop to install a big stereo system and I needed to go to curtin uni on that day. Grant was very kind to give me a free ride to uni. They did an excellent job on the installation and the sound system is amazing.. I am happy with the service, they looked after me from A to Z. I now have a new car and I will definitely come back to see Grant. I highly recommend this place to anyone!
Have been in 3 times for the same part after they asked me to keep coming back and just not getting it in over about 3-4 weeks, on my last visit he asked me what type of car I had. I said my model and he said he didnt need to know the last part as it doesnt change electronics and went on a little rant about how he doesnt go around saying his ve wagon is this and this. I dont know much about cars but just rude! Bought the part elsewhere for less over the phone in 20 minutes

Had heard a lot of good things about Grants Car Stereo, so went to see for myself. Upon arriving I was met by Grant himself and showed an array of options for every budget. I was so impressed (and there was no pressure at all) I went ahead with my purchase,booked it in to be done. Upon collecting my car I was truly amazed, and it was well within my budget. Ive always taken my cars to Grants shop and have been doing so for years now as he is a friendly guy who will take the time to have a chat to figure out what you want out of your stereo and how to get there - without paying an arm and a leg. The quality of the work has always been of a very high standard and Ive never had an issue with any of the installs. Cheers!
I had a simple issue with my cd player and found these guys were able to fix it promptly and for a very reasonable price. It seems to me they are genuine in helping their customers; I found other car audio shops in the area would rather push new product than try and fix the problem. I highly recommend anyone to use them in the future.
