Three stars because this place was the only business that had solutions we needed. It was great to be able to buy a car that enabled my dad to get out of the house, the Toyota Porte Welcab. It seems to be the only place in Perth that sells them. After a lot of investigation into various options this proved to be the cheapest way to go. As the passenger seat is a wheelchair it saves on trying to find a vehicle safe wheel chair and doubles as a motorised wheelchair. So well done to Down Under for bringing these vehicles out. On the down side, Bryan is gruff and not easy to talk to. The wheelchair itself is not covered by the car after sales warranty. Apparently they never go wrong. Ours did though, the wheels tyres went flat 4 -5 mths after purchase and they cant easily be fixed. Bryan covered some of the costs meaning we were only out of pocket $1000 for new wheel chair wheels. You have to pester him a bit, hes quite difficult to talk to, but in the end he got the job done to fix them. With a bit more focus on communication and maybe some consideration to how to make repairs to the wheel chair itself cheaper, this business would be one I would promote.
The staff at DownUnder are plain and simple, rude, abusive and on a power trip. The inspector barked orders at me and when I didnt follow them proceeded to verbally abuse me. These guys have no idea what customer service is.. in fact their attitude leads me to think that they would rather not have any cusomters at all!!! Avoid this place like the plague and go to S&J Automotive Wangara instead. S&J were helpful and explained the issues to me in a professional and customer focusted manner. Myself nor my car would not go anywhere near DowuUnder again even if it was broked down! Stay clear away unless you feel like being treated like a second class citizen!!
I wouldnt even rate these clowns because they dont deserve it. I rang then to see if i can book my car in for an inspection so the twit asked me to hurry up because he was busy. Wow I cant even imagine how these guys survive. A big NO from me. Ill take my business and hard earned cash elsewhere. If small businesses dont understand how to treat customers with the common basics then they should not be in business!
Avoid. Literally within 30 seconds of entering the shop and asking a question at the counter a staff member was verbally abusive to myself and my wife!. We asked him to calm down and watch his language in front of our 3 year old but this just enraged him further. Seriously bad scary experience, who knows what would have happened if we didnt run out the door!
Used Down Under to comply my Harley & my Vette. They were OK. You always get the feeling you are bothering them by asking questions about the compliance of your vehicle the process involved. I got the vehicle(s) complied and in the end thats what mattered.
The ONLY place I take my vehicles for servicing. Would not go anywhere else. They dont just do Japanese imports, and have serviced my Fiat 500 Twinair, Ford Ranger ute as well as my wifes Nissan Stagea. Best in Perth? I think so.
