Hi all, if you are thinking of buying a new holden DO NOT buy it from Goldy Motors in Midland. I bought a brand new SV6 on the 18/9/12. On the 5/10/12 it had registered a fault with the stability control. Also the engine warning light came on. The car was towed back to Goldy Motors on the 5th and was supposedly diagnosed on that day. The diganosis was not recognised so a fault was sent off to Holden in Melbourne. I attempted to find out from Goldy what was happening with the car and was consantly put off with excuses blaming Holden. I was on the phone every day to Goldy trying to get an update as to what was happening. Each time I was told by the service advisor he would call me back after speaking to the service manager. Guess what? Not once did I recieve a call back. That is after calling everyday since the car was sent in. Last Monday I was told that a new motor needed to be installed. That is after new injectors were put in and all the other crap that Holden asked them to do. The new motor was supposed to have arrived last Thursday. Guess again? It did not get here until yesterday. It may be ready in a couple of days! What a joke of a dealership! I have had 4 brand new Fords in the past 9 years and only a few minor issues. During those issues the problems were dealt with in a timely manner and I was informed of progress. So people you have been warned. DO NOT deal with Goldy Motors. They are crap and do not want to know you. The service manager is always out or not available to talk to me when I call. They did hire us a car but that was a major stuff up to arrange also. Finally as of today the car has been sent to Metro Motors in Morley. The service ans customer service is not Poor-Fair it is just very poor. They should not be allowed to trade.
Today i took my holden cruze in to goldy motors holden as it had been recalled for my front break hose. As i picked up the car they informed me they noticed something was broken (a vacume pipe to the manifold) and would need replacing costing $2500+ and if i wanted to i could bring it back for them to fix at a later date. I decided id get my regular mechanic to look at it within the next week. As i got into my car started the ignition, i put my foot on the break, dropped my hand break (still foot on break) and popped it into reverse, my car started to reverse.. my breaks werent working at all as they should, i had to break extremely hard for it to slow down then come to a stop. I decided to go back into holden as my breaks were not like that when i brought it in earlier that morning and if i could have the report they did on my car. They said i couldnt have the report but he read it out, then said the mechanics had knocked off and if i could bring it back tomorrow, when i said that wasnt possible he said whenever your free next week. I then called up my mechanic and drove it carefully to his which was quite scary as i feared i wouldnt be able to stop there for crashing into the back of someone or running a red light/ stop sign. My mechanic hopped in and tested out the breaks, he was appalled that holden let me drive out of their shop and informed me my car was unroad worthy. He asked me if i would mind if he called them up to give them a piece of his mind.. luckily i have a good mechanic who looks after his customers and knows his stuff. I am very disappointed in the service i recieved and i would recommend spend your time and money else where.
My experience of Goldy Motors service department is one that I would not like to repeat. Frankly Fair to Poor is too kind, appalling would be a better description. My sons car (which I was using while he was on holiday) was towed to their premises on Thursday the 10th January, currently (31/1/13) it is apparently still not ready. The RAC had told me the clutch had gone in the car, I have been told several stories by the person in the service section e.g. it wasnt the clutch but something else, the wrong parts arrived, parts had to come from the Eastern States, the parts were late...mostly I found I had to do the calling to find out what was going on. Initially I was told this was a 4 hour job - 3 weeks later is is not finished. In the meantime my son has returned from his holiday - he does not live in Perth and is now back in his home waiting for his car to be delivered...it should be this weekend we are told...maybe watch this space for updates on the saga - I have contacted Consumer Affairs. I cannot recommend this aspect of Goldy Motors, I would say give it a wide berth. The one thing I can say is that they did lend a basic car to me and then to my son.
Bought a brand new Holden Colorado there two years ago. I was told that if i get paint protection on the car after three years i can bring it back and get all the scratches touched up for free. I rang last week to get this done and was told that this is not the case. I was clearly lied to. Also when i bought the car the torneu cover was ripped and bubbles in the window tint i was away working at the time and this is how my wife go it. I took it back when i got home and to goldys credit they fixed it, however had to fix the tint twice and also managed to scratch the window, to which they had to order a replacement. The service department has been good no issues there. As this is the second brand new vehicle purchase for myself this has definitely been the worst. Nothing worse than being lied to your face. My opinion is if your going to spend big bucks you expect and deserve good service and quality workmanship.
I can not give a star rating! Goldy have had my car in their possession for 5 weeks now as I await its return to me...weeks of bickering as to who is responsible (Goldy in one corner and Gardner in the other) for shoddy workmanship, mean while I dont have my car! Ive been promised speedy work - blah, promised returned calls - blah blah blah! what a joke - buyer beware, I have purchased two brand new cars off these guys and had intended to buy my third next June, umm think not...spread the word-go else where!! Week 6 - hilarious!!! phone call telling me the car "is back together". good "um do you have your spare key?" Yes, why? "because we have lost your keys!" Unfkn believable - I have to take my keys to them so they can see if the car works!! OMG how stupid are these people??? Inner warmth comes from knowing people who will not be buying a new car or taking their car back to them again

Goldy Motors has been my choice to service my 2012 Holden Cruze The customer service team and exceptionally well mannered, going to the extent of calling me after each of my services to check that I was satisfied. The service team have been nothing but great, giving me a detailed report of my car, and how it is performing under there tests, also giving me an update of what will follow such as a heads up the break pads are next. But forget all that, its really about the small things, my mirrors had some paint fading on them and it was factory fault, I had a friendly chat letting the service team member know, he said he will check for me, when i came to pickup my car I had the mirrors replaced and the car was washed. As long as the customer service is there and they look after me, I have no reason to go anywhere else. Thanks guys, keep up the good work!
