Avoid like the plague! One of the worst (and most costly) customer experience of my life. I walked in the first time for a quote and some general information, the staff had to grab booklets and search on their computer to answer my basic questions... I was already perplexed. I eventually booked the vehicle with them anyway. The day I went to collect the car it took them 55 mins to enter my driving license details and to process my credit card. When I thought that I could finally drive off they find out that the my vehicle was in another depot.... another 10 mins wait. The second day of driving I noticed that the wipers detergent was dry that the coolant level was low, but the latter didnt cause me any problem. When I dropped the car I asked if there was any paperwork I had to sign before leaving but I was told that everything was ok and that because a reduce my liabilities to zero I could leave. 40 min later I received a call from them saying that they found a chip in the windshield and that they were going to charge me $180 for that! I couldnt check if the damage was real or not because I had to leave town the same day and there was nothing else I could do to dispute the issue. Go somewhere else to hire a car...
I normally dont give one star reviews as there are there are often circumstances to why an establishments service was not up to standard (on the day) but unfortunately this doesnt apply here. Ive had serveral interactions with the Hill St office re: making a booking, adding to a booking and wanting to amend the date on a booking and found each contact interaction to be - well - terrible. Oh, that is when you can get through or not put on hold for 10 minutes at a time. Once I called back after being on hold to be told I should have waited. Are you kidding me? I did wait the first time (just over 11 minutes). Anyhow, enough said. AVIS, given the competitive market you are in, this outlet is a great advertisement for how to drive customers to another company.
Friendly staff and good car. But I was charged $55 for fuel for driving to the airport then to the beach then back to the city. I know they smash you on fuel charges if you dont fill it up yourself, but this is ridiculous. It also implies that the car wasnt totally full when they rented it out to me - the fuel gauge had not noticeably dropped from when I first got in and the distance traveled couldnt have been more than a 5-10 litres. Seems a bit dodgy to me... Anyway, obvious warning to others - definitely fill up before returning even if the gauge says its already full.
Just returned a car to this location. The fuel tank cap was unable to be opened so i went back and asked them if they could open the cap and i can fill up the vehicle. The fuel was full anyways as the vehicle was only driven under 30 kms. They didnt charge me for fuel but instead charged me $50 for smoking fee. I dont smoke and no one even sat in my car and smoked. I am just totally pissed of with their absurd excuse to charge me for something i didnt do. They have lost their customer for life. I will advise people to avoid this company.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE: booked on line for a client. Rang to confirm the booking. The client was coming in on the 11th instead of the 10th. provided details and confirmed with the the customer service person who told me no problems. when my client got to their desk on Sunday afternoon with his family... YES you guessed it... NO car and do you think AVIS cared NO way. Thanks for nothing AVIS ... Never use you again. Oh ... and no cars so client stranded.....
Avoid at all cost. Advised us of a refund for an overcharge on extended lease. Then only not even receive the refund but have try contacting with no luck and keep getting bounced back and forth from 1 department to another. Make sure you have all Itemised invoices or in writing for any refunds on over charges. This company is a joke, even hopeless on the phone. ACCC will be notified of this
The staff on the desk and the staff who got out car were wonderful, professional and absolutely delightful. There was another female staff member who was a paranoid android and had a go at us for parking the car in a spot, when it was actually her colleague parked it there. She wouldnt take that for an answer and caused a drama and left us with a rather unpleasant experience.
Poor service and rude assistant that was more interested in going home early. Car provided was in bad shape, the 4x4 has 3 road tires and 1 4X4 tyre fitted, unsafe in wet conditions and not off road capable. Stay well clear.
Worst car rental on the face of the earth! Unorganised and inefficient. The staff seems even unable to fill their own paperwork. Check your car thoroughly for damages, many are not reported... and it will cost you money...
Dont hire any vehicle from these people! The staff is completely incompetent and the condition report are incomplete. Most probably youll end up paying some existing damage when you return the car. Avoid at all costs!
Great customer service. Were able to accommodate my baby seat requirements easily at Peth airport and a convenient dropoff back in the city. A great experience!
I just got of the phone with Fiona she might be on reception, absolutely fantastic customer service. So bright and bubbly and really helpful.
Customer service was good - but make sure you check the car for damages thoroughly before and after you return it!
