Went after my engine was overheating, they charged me 75$ for a diagnosis, told me it was the head gasket, and proposed me to sell the car to a wrecker for 50$ because the cost of the reparation is too much (my ford falcon is 15 years old). I left, and went in a small shop, and it turned up than a relay was broken, making the front fan not working, causing the overheating. The guy charged me 15$ for the next relay. I came back to Ford, and they were arguing it was the head gasket, tried to damage the engine by pushing the engine very hard. I told them to stop and i left. They didnt even gave me back the 75$ of the wrong diagnosis (I made 2000 km since that, and the car is running very well!). These people are really dishonest and are trying to take advantage of the people with a bad knowledge of mechanic. Just run away!!
They wanted 2500$ for changing the waterpump. I bought one for 90$ and needed 5 ours to change it by myself. Probably they thought they could mess around with backpackers. Furthermore they took 80$ for the diagnosis, but it was absolutely clear that the waterpump was broken. The expertise seems to be bad as well: I told Thomas that i had also problems with the alternator and the rev counter. He said thats another problem. Later i found out, that the alternator and the rev counter are driven by the waterpump belt. So this problem was also solved by changing the waterpump.
After having issues with a new car i purchased from a dealership in Perth and venting my frustration at lack of communication to get the problem fixed, I was then contacted by the service manager Dion and he couldnt help me enough to make sure i was happy and kept informed as to the progress of the car.
