Unfriendly,unhelpful staff i was told they have checked the car before i got there and told the car is in the car park check it yourself if you have a problem run back up to us and let us know what you found all of this on a day when its pouring down with rain and the fact i asked for a staff member to go over the car with me but was told we dont have anyone available for that, only drove to the Grand Chancellor the next day to Port Arthur and back, so did not use the car much at all,when i took the car back i asked for a person to check the car over and was told we will do that later, if there is a problem we will ring you, as i had done nothing wrong off i went about 45 mins later i received a call from Budget to say they have found damage to plastic grill below the licence plate in the grill which is recessed way back on a Nissan Pulsar its a black plastic grill very hard to see, i told the unfriendly girl at the desk i didnt do that damage she told bad luck you singed you pay, no discussion at all and took over $300 out of my account, they are a disgrace to the car rental industry and should be ashamed of the way they conduct business, no repeat business from my family or friends or myself the ripple effect will one day hit you as Budget is not fair with the customer, i suggest everyone steer clear of them. rating is really no stars at all.
The experience was terrible with one of the staff attitude (Lilian ) ,perhaps she just untrained on customer satisfaction. Upon registration at Hobart airport , she pointed out that it was my English name shows on credit card which different from my driving license (full name).Instead of inform me politely that it might not be acceptable by Budget ,she hold my credit card high up and told me " You know .. this card might be your grandma card !Due to company policy I cant accept this even you key in PIN number for the payment ! ". Honestly , it is a discrimination to me as her tone was unfriendly throughout the whole conversation. First of all ,she dont even understand its common to not have full name as IC on credit card. Secondly , she wasnt being respectful toward her customer thus I assumed thats why so many bad Googles reviews on staff attitude.Apparently she was the only one who spoilt our experience in Tasmania. At the end , we rather pay higher go for Hertz which left us memorable customer service !!! Staff was extremely helpful and welcoming.I must say if you are looking for good car rental experience , choose wisely.
To be honest, do not go there !!! Not recommended. Staff unfriendly, unhelpful and mostly uncooperative. We were told we could pay in cash (which suited us as we had a New Zealand account) and on the day of returning the car, it was either saying too late: "I can do nothing, its already gone". Unable to change. As much to say that she had already moved on and that the customers are just good at giving money!
I have not used Budget for years. I booked a small manual and got a larger automatic and was given a GPS system but there was no one who wanted to show me how to use it. That was then swapped for a different car with built in GPS. I was given a pad for the door lock but had no idea how to use it and I finally got someone to show me how to start the car. I have no idea how these modern day automatics work with no hand brake. With the gear shift if it goes over too far to the right, it goes I suppose into semi automatic so it is like driving at 80 in second gear and not changing up. I was told this when I got back to the depot and was spoken to as if every customer is supposed to know how modern day automatics work. At least I got my airpoints. I usually hire from Eurocorp I think it is called. But it wont be Budget.
Picked car up at city office at 10am..made 2 trips to the airport..dropped it off at airport at 7pm..and attendant immediately put his hand under the back bumper and apparently pulled out plant matter..and accused us of going off road..we had travelled 110km..all from city to airport..asked him where there where dirt roads that close to Hobart..he said not his job to answer that question took $300(the excess) off my credit card for a scratch and he agreed was normal wear and tear..now plane was boarding and didnt have time to debate the situation..car was in poor condition on pick up with very scratched hub caps and bumpers..all recorded..but never repaired..opportunists..
Book an economic car, got a wagon wich is way more expencive without any warning or let us know of the changes.Unfriendly and almost rude staff. Term of use are ridiciulus, the assurance cost more then the car. The car itselft was a bit damaged but still work good. Cheap compagny for cheap services !
Speedo measured 110kmph when speed was only 100kmph (confirmed with GPS and another car) because of this was overcharged in excess kilometres. Was called a lier when talking to the attendant about faulty speedometer because (in her words) a kilometres length doesnt change.
They saved our trip when our other ride fell through, really lovely, highly recommend, thanks guys.
Rude staff, not helpful at all. Openly complained to each other about Customers in front of them.
No vehicle available as was booked online. Staff unhelpful and could not provide a vehicle.
