I bought a car from House of Cars and the owner Linden was kind enough to throw in a one year warranty and roadside assist. Two weeks later one of the ignition coils of the car needed replacement and Warranty came to play. Unfortunately, the repairer demanded $500 on top of the Warranty payment, for not doing what Warranty agreed to cover. Although it was a problem between the Warranty Company and the Repairer, I became the victim: The Repairer would not release my car unless I could come up with $500. I felt stressed and vulnerable that I was being bullied and pressured to pay for their mistakes. However Linden stepped in and negotiated between the Warranty company and the Repairer. He even offered to share with the warranty company and pay for 1/2 of the repairers demand. To reduce my stress to face the horrible repairer, Linden paid the ransom money and brought my car back to his car yard for me to pick up. Which used car salesman would go out of his way and the extra mile both financially and physically to help a customer he barely knew and had already sold the car to? I thank God for Linden and his caring kindness. May God bless him and his business richly in return!
I bought a car from this House of Cars couple of years ago. They say they are family-based and trusted organisation. While they are family based, they are not trusted. I was given a car that did not have the right engine. In fact, the right engine was replaced with a much older one. As a customer you are very unlikely to expect this. I noticed this when I went to transfer that car to my name. The ACT Rego office asked me whether I was aware of this different engine issue. I was surprised, as that was something I never witnessed. In fact, the engine that I had in my relatively new car was so old that as of today I suffer. I spent a good amount of money to repair this, but as you can imagine if the engine is really old no amount of spending will bring it back. After I was informed by the ACT Rego office of this, I phoned them to ask as to why they did so. The response was - its nothing new. Therefore, be aware of them - Nothing is new to this House of Cars. After such a huge suffering, I thought it is my holy responsibility to let everybody know so that future customers can be better informed. Regards.
I was sold a car with a blown head gasket, broken thermostat and a blocked radiator 2 and a half weeks ago. I suspected the radiator had issues because the car overheated on way to work one morning and broke down as I was pulling over to let it cool less than one week after owning it. So I had it towed to House of Cars where they told me the radiator was the issue and it couldnt be cleaned (apparently) so it and the thermostat were replaced at my expense, because apparently they arent covered by the additional warranty. Which I basically had to buy because they also told me that cars older then 10 years and 200,000ks arent covered by mandatory warranty. So a week after that, the car is still having issues and it is Easter so I have to wait another 3 days till a reputable mechanic can take a look at it for me. In the meantime I have spoken to other car enthusiasts and mechanics that say its obviously the head gasket that has blown. So in conclusion. AVOID BUYING FORM THIS DEALERSHIP, AVOID THE WARRANTY AND ESPECIALLY DONT USE THEIR MECHANICS WHEN THE CAR YOU BUY HAS ISSUES. Expensive lesson learned.

Our experience started and ended with Lyndon. It was due to him that we returned from shopping around and eventually bought our car. He stands head and shoulders above peers. Lyndon was candid, polite, personable and welcomed us with warmth and sincerity. He listened to our requirements and found us the perfect car from his range. Even though we were seeking a small car, he displayed no bias by treating us as though we were high-rollers. The experience that Lyndon afforded us made the purchase enjoyable and we feel we have made a good deal. Due to the service we received, we intend to go back to House of Cars for our next car and will openly recommend them to others in the meantime. Thank you Lyndon!
I can not describe how decent honest and fabulous this dealership have been to me in purchasing a used car. It is a rare find to be treated so well as a customer especially in this industry. Lyndon from house of cars Canberra has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND his call of duty as a used car dealer and I can not recommend highly enough this business. FIVE STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! dont look anywhere else for your next used car purchase.
Bought a car about a year ago and have had nothing but problems since. House of cars and good year are both scheming businesses who kiss each others backside n rip off customers. They pass roadworthy for house of cars and know there is problems. Completely dishonest, customers pay good money the least you could do is provide a roadworthy car without lying about it. Id give 0 stars if i could.
All positive for us, we got our first car from H.O.Cs just under 2yrs ago. This yr we traded it in on 2 new ones (bigger cars), moved 1300kms away from ACT, I had a problem with mine no fault of H.O.Cs or mine but previous person that did the last big service. Even being so far away they H.O.Cs paid half, I couldnt have been happier. Great service from all staff.
Had a great experience dealing with Lyndon. He was not at all like your typical pushy car salesman, gave us plenty of space while also providing assistance. I have been very happy with the car I bought from him a month ago. Got a great price on it and he threw in a 12 month warranty and roadside assist as well! Great first car buying experience
Purchased a $6,000 car at the House of cars Canberra last week and was looked after firstly by Jesse and then Lyndon, and was told the car had a oil leak.Took the car to my mechanic whilst on a test drive and he confirmed the oil leak he told me its no big deal . Great attention and service by both guys.Very happy with my purchased.
Very bad dealership brought a car from them they had a road worthy done for and it passed to only a week later the pully goes on it. Not a very good dealership. Very disappointed that they couldnt do a thing to help since the car was purchased a week ago.

Not really honest about the car. Theyd better tell it straight that the car has "small" pb before we test drive because its a clear serious pb and anyone will notice that. I wonder about other minor pb which we people can hardly notice.
Nothing but a positive experience during our recent purchase from HOC. I appreciate it when a business acts like it wants me to do business with them again. Lyndon in particular was very helpful.
Not my first purchase from House of Cars and certainly will not be my last. Honest, respectful and straightforward approach to business. Thanks for everything Toby.
All the other reviews you read about this dealer are lies written by friends and family. Lyndon is a scam artist
