Its a hit and miss in terms of customer experience. I had to deal with Hertz because they are preferred by Suncorp (the insurer) that provided me with car rental, while my car was in repair. One of the guys at this office is extremely rude and quite aggressive. I called to explain the situation and let them know they should have charged the insurer, not me a one-way fee. This worker at Hertz Fyshwick used language such as: "you were charged cause you didnt listen" (not true, i had extensive comms w hertz and the insurer), "I dont care what you drive" (actually, that had to do with me changing rental cars), and generally was quite aggressive. If given the choice, I would rather deal either with another location, or a different rental company.
Great service. Julie was very polite and friendly and helpful. The car was all ready to go and was a late model Corolla - nice!! All the paperwork was quick and easy to sort (resulting from a claim through AAMI). The car was immaculate and well presented. All in all a great experience, well done Julie and Hertz ;-D
Dont get sucked into their "cheap petrol" deal. The car i used cost me $45 to fill from empty. I paid $39 for their "cheap" half tank. I returned the car with a smidge under half a tank and they charged an additional $59 for the difference. Shonky as fook at the Fyshwick Canberra store. Be warned.

I rented a car for one day and I returned it just before they were closing so I was 10 mins late. And they charged me $150 for being 10 min late (altogether 39 min) . I find that penalty is ridiculously too much coz they were not gonna do anything with the car . Feeling like robbed
I was told that because I was late to pick up the hire car, they had given it to someone else even tho I booked it for a month! Really bad customer service here, no apology or nothing... The guys im Queanbeyan were much better and alot friendlier.
I had the same experience like the other user described. Young man on the phone very aggressive with no skills and i believe not well trained. Bad customer service.
