Never go back to Car Inspection and ID check at Dickson Motor Registry again. The staff is very rude and rest of people dont respect customers. Some staff is full of tattoos is look like people in jail and look like monkey, absolutely white trash. They shouldnt allowed work for Australia government, that destroy our country reputation. The price for car inspection is very expensive $63 and charge more for re-test $15. Only in Canberra charge more. And, their equipment for car inspection are look like junk. But, charge for $63, and staff just talk with each other and play around. Look very stupid The worst Car inspection place in the entire world. I would strongly recommend you to stay away from this cockroach staff. unprofessional, bad manner, and not competent people.
Terrible experience, Came in with a really good attitude, even when my car got defected i took it on the chin thanked the mechanic and went on my way. Problem is, no one there actually knows anything about how to help their customers; instead they make sure you cant get your car rebooked within the time frame the give you which means paying more money for a reinspection, which means more problems found which costs more which means they cant get you in the time limit they allow. which means you need to pay more money; Dickson are scum and theyre customer service reps are completely rude and unprofessional - spoke with the rudest customer service rep i have ever met by the name of CAL - guy was an absolute asshat. well done dickson for extorting money from people
What a circus, appointments booked through Canberra connect / Canberra access not recognized by the Dickson motor registry either the incorrect information had been entered i.e incorrect type of inspection booked or not booked at all, numerous visits to the registry required and on each a different reason being found to fail registration of my vehicle. Highly recommend googling information regards registration requirement in the ACT prior to going into the motor registry as it turned out in my case the reason for my vehicle being failed was not valid due to its age and changed requirements
Have been trying to get in contact with the vehicle ID section for 5 straight days to clear my car. Cannot legally drive it until then. Have not received a single call back, and the phone goes to the answering machine every time. Absolutely horrible experience. No one on the phone knows what to do, and as soon as it gets too hard they just palm you off to someone else, or cut you off. Then you rejoin the 20+ person phone queue. Horrendous and non caring staff, would not wish this experience on my worst enemy!
Very rude and unprofessional. Car was passed for certain issues on first inspection, on second inspection those same issues that were passed were knocked back... Unprofessional and no explanation on how this occurs. If you ever have to take your car to this inspection station my advise is dont bother just burn it. They have no idea what they are talking about and their inspections are inconsistent and there seems to be a wall put up when it comes to the so called complaints process. Disgusting.
I dealt with 4 staff members and all 4 were intimidating and unprofessional. Their customer service was unacceptable for that of a government agency. Despite almost leaving in tears, I have given 2 stars as the inspection they conducted was very thorough and if I were purchasing a new vehicle and wanted to check that it was mechanically sound, I would trust an inspection conducted at Dickson Motor Registry over a suburban mechanic.
Read your reviews and with trepidation I rang the listed number and after waiting a few minutes with constant countdown as to my place in the queue I told the lady my rego number (boat trailer) suspecting it had expired (it had) and I then renewed it over the phone and I was all done and registered within minutes - it couldnt have been easier JFL
I would highly recommend you get your car inspected by a registered mechanic at an authorised centre. The staff were rude, unfriendly and, didnt seem interested in being there. Typical Government organisation to be honest. Oh and the waiting time in the queue on the telephone when ringing to book is also a joke!
One of the most stressful experiences of my life. Getting robbed was less stressful. Rude staff, conflicting info on the website, lack of info on the website. And then theres the costs which are rarely explained. If you can swing it at all, keep your vehicle registered interstate!
I am unable to sell my car because I have wait ten days to get a vehicle ID check. The car has been registered in Canberra ACT since new. They want $50 to do the ID check. The stupid plastic ID stickers have worn out. Still more money for the stupid trams. Great Customer Service
I was expecting this place to be pretty bad based on the reviews here but that wasn’t the case at all. The staff were friendly and I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes (8:30 in the morning).
Stay away from them if you can! Simply the worst inspection station I have ever been! Like the other person commented: Getting robbed was less stressful. Cant agree more!
Nice staff, no stuffing around, I was in and out in 15 minutes. These men are straight shooters - if you cant hack it, you can always go to Wendys and order a soft serve.
Customer service was A+ for organisation and friendliness. You only have to queue once. However their computer system seems to be a major bottleneck in processing times.
No complaints. Ticketing service system worked well and we had our rego transferred in just 20 minutes even though it was fairy busy. Facilities are also pretty good.
They open at 8:15. There are 29 people waiting and 2 staff on - this wait is ridiculous.
