Ive bid and purchased over a hundred items on this website over the past several years. There have been more than a small amount of time that strangely my bids have been bid right up to their maximums. I played with this at one stage to check my suspicions, with two IDENTICAL items that were being sold.. One of them, I placed my maximum bid at $180 (which was at $35 at the time I placed my bid) For the identical one, my maximum bid was $105 (which was at $50 at the time I placed my bid) On the last day, the auctions ended and fantastic!, Id won both of them!! Thats wonderful right? It was and it wasnt and heres is why... The first one, went for $180 (my max) and the identical one went for $105 (my max) .. I dont care what anybody says... That is NO coincidence!!!!!! How could they possibly know what my maximums were? and if they wanted the items so BADLY then why didnt they bid the second identical item as high as the bid the first one? Why did they stop??? they were listed beside each other, so theres no way they could have missed seeing them! Nobody EVER deserves to be ripped off or cheated and I dont understand how anybody (let alone a company!) could do this to anybody? How can they sleep at night? This company is dishonest, i swear to you, I am not lying and I gain no benefit from telling you this. In saying all this and putting you off, often there are items you are genuinely interested in here that you cant get anywhere else and you would like to have them... My sage and wonderful advice to you, NEVER EVER place a maximum bid on items, instead only increment your bids by $5-20 each time, else you WILL be bid right to you maximum amount if you are stupid enough to use the auto-bid! If you cannot be there to bid for yourself and you need to rely on auto-bid, ONLY place the amount you want to pay, like the absolute maximum. Because you will pay it. Otherwise, BE THERE at the countdown! Check the goods, often items listed as untested are faulty! If you are stupid enough to think that you will put in an extra high bid because you think nobody will ever go that high on the item you are interested in so you will win it regardless of what others bid, you will find that your bid will be brought up. In this instance, it wont be at your max, but youll pay heavily for it! Remember there is an 18% premium! Be SMART out there!
bid on a filing cabinet - picture showed a perfectly fine cabinet (normal wear and tear) it was mentioned that there are no keys with the unit - perfectly fine with me. i won the auction, paid online and went to pick up the next day - upon checking the item - turns out the key was broken off in the lock - unable to open the cabinet - made it pretty useless - i was offered my money back into my paypal account - i accepted the offer. ... i did not get my money back into my paypal accout - instead i got credit on my allbids account - not what i asked for! ... 2 days later, a filing cabinet of the same build and model is back online - since i had credit on my account that i had no use for - i wanted to bid ... - i checked the photo of the item - perfectly fine again --- however --- it says in the description that the key is broken off what really puts me off is that the picture does not match the item that is offered --- that is misleading ! i do not recommend using allbids, unless you have plenty of time on you hands to go out there to inspect every item BEFORE bidding on it! - very disappointed customer.
Very disappointed. After winning an auction (and paying), I received no response from All Bids on the delivery arrangements. After emailing and calling to ask when the item would be shipped, I was told a week or so later that the product never actually existed due to a "rare stock count error". The vendor had listed multiple auctions for the same product, I cant help but feel they chose not to fulfill my particular order as it was one of the lower winning auctions. The vendor selling the product continues to be an endorsed seller by All Bids, and is selling virtually the same product now. It should be the vendors responsibility to fulfill customers auction purchases, or surely they should no longer be able to sell on All Bids. Very disappointed in this buying experience, and ultimately no effort to reach a customer resolution.
Twice now Ive bid on items and had the winning bid. About an hour before the two different auctions ended someone instant bid instead of maximum bid at about 3x the value. Both times I had winning bids of $600-$700 and a good hour before the auction was scheduled to end different bidders came on and bid around $2k well above the value of the products. The MRRP was well well below about $1k for each of them. Highly suspicious auction site and most likely a scam. I did receive a couple of other items so it looks like certain auctions have a reserve thats just not listed and to get around it they bid on their items themselves.
Really, really badly run online action site. Constantly randomly extending auction ending times, miss other items during action time while chasing others. Very poorly staged similar items which appeal to like minded tastes are placed one after another within in minutes of each other. Actually, I would NOT sell through Allbids I would use Lawsons or Lenard Joel, they are professionally managed. These sites have a facility Allbids does not, but Ill let you figure that out, dont want the bone heads at All bids to know about it.
I have sold numerous items through ALLBIDS over the past 10 years. I enjoy the convenience of dropping the items off and not having to think about them again, they do everything for me. I have also brought a car, items for my home, jewellery and gifts through the site. I havent experienced any issues with items I have purchased and I always find the girls at reception friendly and great to deal with.
Ive only used ALLBIDS a couple of times and both have been very well handled. My latest dealing with the company (Jo) was absolutely brilliant. There was a minor issue with the purchased item due to the seller. Despite this Jo looked after everything to make sure that the issue was resolved in a very timely manner. Superb customer service that is way too rare. Thanks again Jo and ALLBIDS.
Bought a car for cheap here finally after spending weeks looking. Car is valued at more than I bought it for. Very friendly staff. Great that you can inspect the cars. After a number of inspections and my first purchase I found their descriptions on the site to be very accurate. I havent found an incorrect description yet. Now my friend is bidding on a car from here after seeing mine!
Noticed that when my item was about to end it was at $30, I had a max bid of $100. Then to my surprise with seconds to go one person makes a bid of a $100, leaving me as the winner at $100 cause i bid that amount first. Seems like theyre monitoring and making false bids behind the scenes. I wouldnt trust using this site.
Got my wines and car at a bargain! Initially suspicious, I tried to inspect first the items and put my max bid at a level I think I can get a bargain ahead of the closing time. I dont trust the last minute rule due to variation in network speed. All satisfied, with great customer service in their showroom.
